“My aspirations have always been to play for England”- Sam Taylor
You might never have heard about the sport of Powerchair and Sam Taylor is pretty good at it.
Taylor, who has been playing for 15 years, is a Manchester based player who has his eyes set on to represent his national team.
Powerchair football is a unique sport which uses electric wheelchairs and was first played in France in the 1970s when teachers invented the sport as a way for students to play football even with physical disabilities.
And Taylor, who plays for Sale United, wants to get to the top.
“My aspirations have always been to play for England,” he said.
I’ve got a long way to go.
“top teams will just knock it round you.”

Powerchair football has a World Cup which takes place roughly every four years and a European Champions Cup every two years.
Taylor says playing the sport means the world to him.
“Its become the biggest part of my life,” he said.
“I just want to inspire people to continue to play.”
Taylor will be hoping to improve and develop in his quest on reaching his dream – and who knows we could see him playing for England at the next World Cup.
